I’m suprised I’m not more sore (actually, I’m barely sore at all).
I’ve probably just spoken too soon.
This weekend was full of dancing! I’m glad we chose to stay in Friday night; I’d really be pooped! Saturday we went out for a jog (about 2.5 miles) and while we were out our friend called to remind us about a benefit workshop he was doing that afternoon. A quick shower and lunch run later, we were at the studio for a three-hour salsa workshop (the benefit: a local dancer–whom I grew up with, by coincidence–made it to Vegas for So You Think You Can Dance?). Dinner downtown (sloooooow service) and then off to find that the “new” salsa night we were hoping for closed early. Again. Who closes a club–hell, a bar–at 10pm?? WTF? So it was off to the Howling Moon again. Meh. The DJ sucks there. Mostly hyper-merengues and lots of bachatas. Hardly any salsas.
Sunday we headed out to Ann Arbor for two more hours of workshops (taught by other people). I really enjoyed the Cha-Cha Shine class–it felt like I was back at a dance convention trying to cram in as much choreography in as little time as possible. Hopefully I can remember it! After a sushi dinner (I’m starting to like it more) we headed over to the YA Salsa monthly social. Wow! It was crowded (in a good way) and everyone was dancing! All levels of dancers; some were pretty amazing. And, naturally, good music! Mostly salsa, quite a few cha-chas and maybe one or two rhumbas. It was quite a late night!
